Job Summary
Maintain a clean and orderly environment throughout the facility by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and spot-cleaning common areas, restrooms, offices, and entrances. Perform detailed floor care using side-by-side stripping and high-speed buffing machines while preserving vinyl flooring finishes. Proactively identify cleaning needs to uphold sanitation standards and disinfect bathrooms and high-touch surfaces per established hygiene protocols. Remove trash and debris from indoor and outdoor areas, clearing snow from the front exterior when necessary. Use cleaning equipment properly, ensure supplies are maintained, and follow all safety guidelines including protective gear and approved agents. Work independently and as part of a team in East New York, Brooklyn, with a Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3pm schedule.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) months of experience in custodial or related work
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, methods, and equipment
- Ability to follow safety protocols when handling cleaning supplies and tools
- Understanding of chemical safety and ability to adhere to Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Willingness to respond to maintenance and flood emergencies as needed
- A strong sense of responsibility and pride in creating clean, safe, and comfortable spaces for others
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, with clear and respectful communication
- Openness to learning new skills, receiving feedback, and adapting to evolving needs within the facility
- Basic computer skills to support communication with supervisors or headquarters, such as submitting reports or receiving updates
- This is a full-time non-exempt role with an hourly rate of $22.15 (annualized at 35 hours a week to $40,314) with a full benefits package

Desired Qualifications
