Job Summary
Conduct daily janitorial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors while operating heavy-duty machinery. Remove garbage, dispose of soiled items, wipe down surfaces, and perform snow removal with salt and sand application. Ensure halls and rooms remain clutter-free, check building conditions for safety concerns, and provide access for tradesmen. Handle chemicals safely, organize supplies, and fill out maintenance inventory sheets. Complete miscellaneous tasks as requested by management. Requires First Aid certification, WHMS knowledge, and ability to lift 30 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Previous cleaning experience
- The ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Understanding of standard cleaning procedures, products, and equipment
- Certified in First Aid
- WHMIS
- Cooperative
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must submit to a criminal record check with vulnerable sectors
- Must submit to a Social Development check
