Job Summary
Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing; empty trash receptacles, sort recyclables, and clean, sanitize, and restock restroom supplies. Service custodial equipment, perform minor repairs to buildings and furniture, and identify safety, sanitary, and fire hazards. Lock and unlock doors, windows, and gates as needed while keeping grounds areas clean and orderly. This one-year contract with Alabama Power in Birmingham, AL requires a high school diploma or GED, physical ability to lift 50 pounds, and experience with custodial tools and elevated surfaces.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Physically able to bend, squat, kneel, twist, and climb ladders
- Comfortable working from heights or elevated surfaces when needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous custodial or groundskeeping experience
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively
- Familiar with custodial tools, techniques, materials, and equipment care
