Job Summary
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and comfort throughout the facility and grounds by cleaning museum restrooms, exhibit floors, office spaces, and maintaining clean exhibit glass. Collect trash and monitor all floor appearances, furnishings, and fixtures, including daily bathroom maintenance during open hours. Set up and breakdown facility rentals and special events while performing light maintenance and repair duties as assigned. Operate vacuums, floor scrubbers, and power tools to ensure the museum's appearance meets visitor expectations. Work night shifts from 5:00pm to 1:30am, including weekends and holidays, at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- previous custodial experience
- Ability to understand verbal instructions and written/verbal communications
- Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures, including safe use of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ability to operate vacuums, floor scrubber, hand and power tools, other related equipment
- Continuous movement involving walking, bending, stretching, standing, pushing, carrying, and pulling
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for weekday shifts
- Must be available for holidays
- Additional coverage for special events may also be required
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or previous custodial experience preferred
