Job Summary
Facilities Assistant needed in Somerset West, South Africa to support maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting), coordinating external contractors, ensuring health and safety compliance, setting up workspaces for new hires, general upkeep of common areas, and assisting with office moves and conference setup. Requires Higher Certificate in Plumbing and/or Electrical, prior facilities/maintenance experience, familiarity with safety regulations, carpentry/painting/tiling experience, and a valid driver’s license. Weekend and after-hours work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Certificate in Plumbing and/or Electrical
- Previous experience in a facility assistant role
- Maintenance experience in Facilities/Estates/Corporate Buildings or grounds
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance
- Experience in gardening/grounds maintenance
- Experience working on domestic electrical installations, basic plumbing, painting, tiling and general building repairs.
- Proven experience as a maintenance worker
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Driver’s License
