Job Summary
Facilities Assistant at The John Gore Organization supporting the day-to-day upkeep of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. This part-time role assists with building maintenance, event set-ups, and routine inspections to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming for patrons, performers, and staff. Duties include basic maintenance (light repairs, bulb replacements, seasonal tasks like snow removal, exterior upkeep), monitoring and reporting repair needs, maintaining tools and inventory, assisting with set-up and breakdown for performances and meetings, supporting custodial tasks (trash removal, light cleaning, restocking), and conducting routine safety and cleanliness inspections of backstage and public spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders or in physically active settings, and be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours. Prior facilities, building maintenance, or event support experience is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.
