Job Summary
Facilities and Maintenance Custodian responsibilities include custodial & cleaning duties (maintaining cleanliness of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas while ensuring facilities are sanitary, safe, and presentable), routine cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, waste removal), following proper procedures for chemical/product use, performing routine and preventative maintenance on building systems and fixtures, inspecting facilities for repairs and safety concerns, completing minor repairs (plumbing, lighting, furniture, doors, locks, basic electrical), painting and floor care, monitoring building systems, securing building and grounds, setting up furniture/equipment for events, responding to safety concerns, maintaining inventory, and supporting daily school operations. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in custodial or facilities maintenance preferred, knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment operation, ability to safely use tools and cleaning chemicals, problem-solving skills, physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and completing background checks/health screenings. This role is based in Myrtle Beach, SC, US and is typically a full-time position.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in custodial services, facilities maintenance, or building operations preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, maintenance procedures, and equipment operation
- Ability to safely use tools, machinery, and cleaning chemicals
- Strong problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and repetitive movement
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Successful completion of required background checks and health screenings
