Job Summary
Coordinate and deliver services to staff supporting emergent bilingual students by integrating language and content objectives in all instructional settings. Provide leadership in identifying, placing, and planning for EB students while modeling instructional strategies and lessons. Analyze ESL data to enhance student performance and plan, facilitate, and evaluate professional development to fulfill Title III requirements. Support campus programs including the Katy Summer Program and extended day initiatives by compiling assessment data and coordinating supplemental resources. Work with the Instructional Officer to develop curriculum meeting federal grant objectives. Provide supplemental support outside regular contract hours and assist with parent and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or license
- ESL certification required
- Ability to work with school, community and emergent bilingual (EB) population
- Ability to disaggregate and analyze academic data
- Knowledge of state and federal laws concerning ESL programs
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with teachers who service EB students
- Training and/or certification in identifying and working with EB students
- Experience in content-based language instruction (CBLI)
- Experience in curriculum development
- Moderate lifting and carrying
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree preferred
