Job Summary
ARD Facilitator coordinates and schedules ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings and ensures IEP elements are completed while maintaining federal/state timelines. Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Special Education to preserve data integrity for PEIMS reporting regarding all students with disabilities, including ARD dates, instructional setting, and disability type. Responsibilities include notifying parents, distributing ARD calendars, ensuring timely ARD paperwork submission, and facilitating communication among special and general education personnel to support accommodations and progress. Requires strong knowledge of applicable laws, effective written and verbal communication, proficiency with computer tools (email, documents, spreadsheets), and the ability to work with diverse populations; a bachelor’s degree in Special Education with certification is required, bilingual skills preferred. Supervisory responsibilities: none. Working conditions include typical school environment with potential for variable hours and occasional movement or lifting as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree – Special Education certification; bilingual preferred (Spanish)
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws and guidelines; proficient in instructional materials, technology, and state evaluation methods; strong communication; collaboration; data management; experience with PEIMS or similar
- Experience: At least 3 years teaching experience, preferably in an at-risk setting, including experience teaching students with disabilities and other students with diverse learning needs; experience with eSped or other computer-based documentation system preferred
