Job Summary
Face-to-face Spanish language interpreter contractor in Central Ohio. Provide in-person interpretation for medical, social services and other appointments; flexible schedule with assignments available 24/7/365; select own workload. Role emphasizes using bilingual skills to assist clients who speak English and Spanish; requires 40-hour interpreter training, bilingual proficiency verification, and passing a federal background check with a drug screen; must be eligible to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
