Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of facades and building envelope systems and interfaces (Cladding, curtain wall glazing, render, brickwork)
  • Knowledge of construction methods and fire performance of external wall materials
  • Knowledge of passive fire protection products, fire testing and field of application
  • Knowledge of waterproofing systems focusing on system classification and fire interaction
  • Experience carrying out intrusive external wall surveys on high-rise and large buildings
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
  • Ability to author technical reports with engineering judgement
  • Understanding of fire safety design legislation and guidance (Building Regulations, Approved Document B, Fire Safety Order, PAS 9980)
  • Knowledge of fire risk assessment process
  • Experience with refurbishment schemes and on-site contractor management
  • Ability to work at heights and use scaffolding or elevated work platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word for reports
  • Ability to manage own workload and mentor junior staff
  • Willingness to travel to client sites with overnight stays
