Job Summary
Facade Engineer (External Wall Assessments) providing fire engineering reviews of external wall construction for residential buildings, performing on-site inspections, document/design reviews, and development of fire engineered solutions across UK offices; responsibilities include reviewing drawings/specifications for fire life safety, conducting on-site surveys and inspections, risk-based assessments under PAS 9980, producing clear reports, contributing to Fire Safety Strategy development, client management, and supporting business development; travel to client sites with overnight stays is expected; hybrid, part-time, and flexible working arrangements are discussed within the benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of facades and building envelope systems
- Experience with intrusive external wall surveys
- Reading architectural drawings and specifications
- Ability to author technical reports with engineering judgement
- Understanding of fire safety design legislation and guidance
- Knowledge of PAS 9980
- Site inspections and reporting experience
- Ability to travel to client sites with overnight stays
