Job Summary
Fabricate reinforcing steel products according to work orders, rebar tags, and customer specifications, including bar size, bends, quantities, and dimensions. Set up and safely operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, and automated bending machines. Stack, band, and stage materials while organizing fabricated products for shipment in an industrial environment. Inspect finished materials visually and through measurements to ensure accuracy, identify defects, and make necessary adjustments. Prepare completed products for transport using protective materials like bracing, padding, and strapping. Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all safety policies while reporting hazards promptly. Requires forklift or overhead crane certification, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and experience in rebar fabrication or manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility
- Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes
- Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in rebar fabrication, manufacturing, or a related production environment
- Ability to read basic work orders and rebar tags
- Experience operating fabrication machinery
