Job Summary
Cut, weld, grind, and assemble metal components for fence panels, gates, and structural supports by reading blueprints and interpreting welding symbols. Prepare and tack parts, perform vertical, horizontal, uphill, overhead, and out-of-position welding, and use hand tools, clamps, and jigs to set up workpieces. Inspect and test welds for quality and accuracy while maintaining a clean, safe work area and performing daily equipment checks. Report faulty equipment or defective materials to the supervisor and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position starting at $21.00/hour with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- Must maintain regular attendance and exhibit positive and professional conduct
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to customers and employees and to work cooperatively with others
- Must be self-motivated and able and willing to learn and acquire knowledge in the field on an ongoing basis
- Must be able to follow industry safety rules and adhere to company and contractor standards
- Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams to determine locations and directions for welding projects
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Welding certification and/or schooling preferred but not required
