Job Summary
Fabricator responsibilities include transforming raw glass or architectural aluminum materials into finished products, transporting materials within the warehouse and production areas, operating machinery such as automated cutting tables and CNC equipment (waterjets, edging machines, polishers), measuring and cutting glass to precise dimensions (often within 1/16" to 1/8"), reading sketches and blueprints to determine material specifications, inspecting for defects, loading/unloading heavy glass safely, performing edge work, and maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace. The role emphasizes safety, quality inspection, and the ability to operate specialized machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 1-2 years of glass or aluminum fabrication, carpentry, or a related manufacturing field
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Ability to read sketches, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and use a tape measure
- Ability to stand 8-10 hours and lift/move heavy glass panels up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat, cold, humidity)
