Job Summary

Cut, replace, transport, and remove all types of glass frames in the Shop setting while fabricating frames using putty, adhesives, clips, or molding. Interpret fab sketches and specifications to determine glass types and dimensions, then load, unload, and move heavy materials weighing up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Operate various machinery and tools safely to make brake metal accurately, inspect fabricated materials for quality, and repair or replace damaged glass. Maintain a clean work area, follow all safety protocols, and drive company vehicles to various job sites. Work 90% in a warehouse/fabrication shop setting with occasional outdoor deliveries, reporting safety concerns and inventory shortages to the Shop Foreman.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to work legally in the USA
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Successful completion of OSHA10, pre-employment driving, background, and drug screening
  • A valid Wisconsin drivers license
  • reliable transportation
  • Ability to read and interpret fab sketches and project drawings and specifications in English
  • Ability to use measuring tools accurately
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds or more
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods
  • Must have a strong sense of balance
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other team members

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior coursework in mathematics, plan reading, or hands-on Shop class(es)
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
