Job Summary
Fabricators fabricate and assemble polyethylene pipe to create customized structures (fittings, valves, T's, Y's, elbows, aqua shields, geothermal vaults, manholes, dual containment units, pumps, gas aeration lines) meeting customer specifications. Responsibilities include reading blueprints and ticket orders to determine required materials, following quality control procedures to ensure conformance, maintaining accurate material records, keeping a clean and safe workspace, operating fusion and fast fusion equipment as well as cranes and forklifts, using various hand tools and cutting equipment, and lifting up to 40 lbs while standing for long periods. Basic computer skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work
- Follows quality control procedures to ensure that the assembled product meets customer specifications
- Upholds accurate records of materials used on tickets; locates and pulls required materials from inventory
- Maintains clean work area and equipment; follows safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials to maintain safe working conditions
- Operates ISCO's fusion and fast fusion equipment, cranes and forklifts
- Utilizes a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment and performs other related duties as assigned
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time
