Job Summary

Fabricate, assemble, and erect steel structures by laying out metal parts from blueprints, marking reference lines, and using hand tools to position components for welding. Execute SMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes while aligning plates, bulkheads, and frames to eliminate distortion. Measure, scribe layouts, and sequence welding to ensure conformance with technical standards 1689 and 1688. Prepare products for shipment and maintain clean, organized work areas while following all safety protocols. Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and perform other related duties as assigned. Work onboard ships, in dry docks, or at customer facilities under fast-paced conditions, often requiring overtime and standing for extended periods.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of technical to include 1689 and 1688
Must have own basic skill related tools and equipment if not supplied by the workplace
Proficient in SMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes as well as Direct Energy Arc Process (i.e. Stud Shooting)
Experience with performing structural and pipe welding for various material types (e.g. OSS, HSS, HY-80/100, CRES, CUNI & ALUM)
