Job Summary
Metal Fabricator / Model Maker for aerospace sheet metal fabrication requiring precision craftsmanship and hands-on use of traditional hand tools. Responsibilities include fabricating/assembling aerospace sheet metal components, reading engineering drawings, performing layout, forming, cutting, bending and shaping, building prototypes and production parts to tight tolerances, inspecting finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy, and collaborating with engineering/production on custom builds. Must have 3+ years of experience, strong aerospace sheet metal background, proficiency with manual tools (shears, brakes, rollers, English wheel, hammers, dollies), ability to read blueprints, and a high attention to detail. Preferred experience building prototypes, tooling, or concept models; background in aerospace/defense or precision manufacturing; welding/finishing experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or model making
- Strong background in aerospace sheet metal (required)
- Expertise with hand tools and manual fabrication equipment ("old school" skillset)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
