Job Summary
Fabricate, fit, and assemble structural components of various equipment by joining, repairing metal and weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine requirements, then set up and operate welding equipment including machines, gas cylinders, and torches. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and degreasing; select and measure materials; and weld components in various positions. Inspect welded joints for defects and perform post-welding processes like grinding, sanding, and polishing to ensure quality and structural soundness. Adhere to safety guidelines for hazardous environments and collaborate with other Fabricators and Welders on large-scale projects. Requires at least two years of proven quality experience, physical ability to lift 75 pounds or more, and successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Proven quality experience working as a Fabricator (at least 2 years)
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- The ability to maneuver fabrication tools including but not limited to grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, etc.
- The ability to interpret blueprints and work specifications
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds or more
