Job Summary
Fabricate piping and related materials by reading diagrams, measuring pipes, and using angle grinders to cut steel plates and prepare weld fittings. Safely operate heavy machinery including a Landis threader and forklift for loading/unloading materials, while maintaining equipment and ensuring shop cleanliness. Complete required safety training and enforce OSHA regulations. This role requires 1+ years of warehouse experience, welding skills, and proficiency in math and English. Hajoca Richmond-South offers a $20-$25 hourly rate with a profit-sharing program, full benefits, and a decentralized environment where each location operates as a profit center.
Required Qualifications
- 1 or more years of warehouse or material handling experience
- Have, or quickly develop, a comprehensive knowledge of steel pipe, fittings and fire protection related products
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with co-workers, vendors and management
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to think quickly on your feet to address issues and find practical solutions
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of and be able to apply and enforce OSHA and other material handling and facility safety regulations
- Be able to safely operate a forklift and all other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
- Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used for business operations
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Be able to safely operate heavy machines such as a Landis threader
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
