Job Summary
Design and fabricate tooling, fixturing, and equipment to improve accuracy and efficiency for product production while maintaining and updating existing systems. Operate fabricating, machining, and welding equipment to build racks, carts, tables, and complex fixtures with minimum supervision. Read blueprints and technical publications to interpret specifications, provide input for cost estimates and savings, and evaluate needs to recommend productivity improvements. Perform work standing on concrete up to 12 hours per day in a manufacturing shop environment, frequently pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 45 pounds. Requires two or more years of machining and/or welding experience.
Required Qualifications
- Blueprint/technical publication reading ability
- Ability to read and interpret necessary instructions or specifications required to perform duties
- Ability to use general mechanic and maintenance tools and equipment
- Ability to maneuver in congested work environment with usual working conditions associated with heavy equipment repair
- Ability to work on, in, around, and under equipment as necessary to perform duties
- Ability to climb ladders, work platforms, stairs, etc.
- Ability to frequently push/pull/lift up to 45 pounds
- Perform work standing on concrete up to 12 hours per day
