Job Summary

Weld or burn metal for fabrication and assembly work, including tack welding component parts for spooling or tank fabrication. Cut holes in pipe to specifications after lay-out by fitters. Weld pipe, fittings, tanks, and heat exchangers while accurately reading tape measures and welding symbols. Operate lift trucks and pendant operated overhead cranes if experienced. Work day shifts from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with overtime when required. Perform duties in cold environments with exposure to fumes and noise, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Required Qualifications

  • Accurately read tape measure to 1/16"
  • Able to read welding symbols
  • Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Completed welding training program
  • Able to do MIG and TIG welding
  • Pass welding test
  • Able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally and 51-100 pounds
  • Work overtime when required
  • Willing to comply with company rules and policies
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Able to operate lift truck and pendant operated overhead crane
  • Two years experience in MIG welding
  • One year in TIG/Heliarc welding
