Fabrication Weld Lead

Job Summary
Lead and support daily welding team activities by verifying operations against approved Welding Procedure Specifications and monitoring quality throughout production. Ensure accurate completion of documentation including sign-offs, weld maps, and consumable records while coordinating workflow and communicating priorities with the Supervisor. Train and mentor team members on techniques, equipment operation, and safe work practices, and maintain proper inventory and storage of welding consumables. Promote a safe, clean environment and address quality concerns or equipment issues promptly. Requires 5 years of welding experience, blueprint reading skills, and ability to lift 50 pounds; full-time role at Uni-Form Components Corp supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, welding equipment, consumables, and quality standards
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach as required
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, fumes, and other manufacturing conditions
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
- Ability to safely operate welding equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts (if certified), and other material handling equipment as required
