Job Summary
Fabrication Technician responsible for hands-on prototyping and advanced manufacturing, performing TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machining on aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium, reading and interpreting CAD drawings, operating a Flow Waterjet, and delivering high-precision structural assemblies and custom test fixtures. Collaborates with engineers across disciplines, provides DFMA feedback, conducts dimensional checks and weld inspections, supports NDT preparation when needed, and upholds lean manufacturing practices and safety protocols. Requires 5+ years in fast-paced prototyping/production, proficiency with TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, machining, and CAD interpretation; preferred: CAD software (NX/SOLIDWORKS), GD&T, DFMs, aerospace/defense or R&D exposure; ability to work swing shifts in a fast-moving environment. Knowledge of export control regulations (EAR/ITAR) and compliance considerations is noted in the role context.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on fabrication experience in a fast-paced prototyping or production environment
- Proficiency in TIG welding, including work with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, and mechanical integration
- Working knowledge of Flow Waterjet operation
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow precise fabrication instructions
- Familiarity with manual machining (mill, lathe, grinder) and general metalworking tools
- Strong attention to detail, safety-minded, and capable of working independently or in cross-functional teams
