Fabrication Specialist

Job Summary
Review fabrication requests from Production and internal teams, then design practical metal and wood solutions based on project needs, drawings, and field conditions. Fabricate custom components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, performing MIG and TIG welding per safety standards. Read blueprints and schematics, take accurate measurements, and coordinate with vendors for specialized support. Inspect completed work for quality issues before delivery and maintain clean, organized work areas. Communicate project status, risks, and completion to team members while managing multiple assignments and supporting customer installation schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in fabrication, production, facilities, mechanical maintenance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience in metal and wood fabrication.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
- Experience using powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Ability to take accurate dimensional measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, paint, and chemical safety practices.
- Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Outlook, and internal communication tools.
- Clear verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make routine decisions with limited guidance.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak production or installation periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, operating power tools, and carrying materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 100 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation and using appropriate procedures or equipment.
- Ability to wear approved Personal Protective Equipment in designated work areas.
- Additional background checks and drug screenings before or during employment in support of customer-specific deployments.
