Job Summary
The Fabrication Shop Helper is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled manual labor tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, cleaning, painting, and supporting experienced craft workers. Duties include assisting with the layout, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of industrial piping systems, cleaning construction sites, handling materials and tools, and maintaining good housekeeping in a safe work area. Candidates must be mechanically inclined, possess strong time management skills, and be able to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 70 pounds and working at unprotected heights.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined or individuals who would like to get into welding or pipefitting.
- Ability to multi-task various projects with a level of detail.
- Work under close supervision.
- Follow assigned work instructions (mainly verbal).
- Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with coworkers and crafts workers.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn operations and equipment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
