Job Summary
Fabrication Manager leads a team of welders, fabricators, fitters, equipment operators, and blast/coaters to ensure on-time production within quality and safety parameters. Manages end-to-end activities including planning/scheduling, project release, resource loading, fabrication, coating, and project loadout, while collaborating with Senior Leadership, Safety, Quality, Project Management, and Purchasing to meet project requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing production in fabrication shops, mentoring direct reports, maintaining employee relations and safety, generating work schedules, hiring/training development of personnel, resolving drawing issues with Engineering, reporting variances, tracking project progress, ensuring on-time departures, conducting annual performance reviews, enforcing safety policies, and contributing to quality improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Fabrication Supervisory experience: 5 years (Required)
- Must have the ability to read and understand blueprint drawings
- Must have familiarity with fabrication equipment (burn table, press brake, plate rolls, angle lines, beam lines, overhead cranes, and other common processing equipment)
- Must have familiarity with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW
- Experience with MRP systems (Tekla) Preferred
- Understand quality inspection process VT, PT, MT, UT, RT
- Have a working knowledge of code requirements AISC, ASME, AWS, ISO
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize in a demanding environment
