Job Summary
Supervise and train the fabrication team while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Plan and coordinate daily activities including material preparation, cutting, forming, and welding, while interpreting engineering drawings to guide processes. Operate and maintain equipment such as shears, press brakes, welders, and grinders, and conduct quality inspections to identify non-conformances. Manage material inventory to optimize usage and minimize waste, collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve design for manufacturability. This role requires 5+ years of metal fabrication experience with 2+ years in leadership, strong welding knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The position is located in Wayland, MI, with a salary range of $59,000 - $86,000.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication
- at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, STICK)
- knowledge of fabrication processes
- knowledge of machinery (e.g., press brakes, shears, saws, CNC equipment)
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and scheds
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of skilled fabricators
- Excellent problem-solving skills
