Job Summary
Supervise and mentor fabrication team members while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Plan, schedule, and assign daily fabrication tasks to meet production deadlines, and oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment including welders, saws, and grinders. Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to guide processes, implement quality control procedures, and manage material inventory through ordering and receiving. Troubleshoot complex fabrication issues and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize methods and improve product design for manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge of various fabrication techniques, including welding (MIG, TIG, STICK), cutting (plasma, laser, saw), forming (press brake, rolling), and finishing
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled fabricators
- Experience with quality control processes and ensuring adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production scheduling software
