Job Summary
Supervise and mentor fabrication team members while planning, scheduling, and assigning daily tasks to meet production targets. Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of fabrication equipment including welders, saws, and presses, and ensure all components meet quality standards through in-process inspections. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes, manage inventory of raw materials, and enforce safety protocols within the area. This role supports manufacturing firms in Mason, MI, focusing on continuous improvement and high standards across the region.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, including welding, cutting, forming, and assembly
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising and mentoring a team of fabricators
- Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and associated safety protocols
- Experience with various fabrication equipment, such as press brakes, shears, saws, and grinders
- Ability to inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
