Job Summary
Lead the shift and cells by assigning work orders, monitoring progress, and ensuring completion according to production schedules and customer specifications. Conduct daily direction, prioritization, and technical support to a team of welders and fabricators while performing hands-on duties including layout, cutting, measuring, TIG welding, and assembly of stainless steel components. Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting welding or fabrication issues, train and mentor team members in welding techniques and company standards, and inspect welds to ensure conformance with internal and customer standards. Uphold all safety policies, maintain attendance and performance records, and support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in stainless steel fabrication
- Proven leadership or lead-hand experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of fabrication and welding principles, tools, and techniques
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for leading and training others
- Basic computer skills for work order tracking and reporting
- Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
