Job Summary
Fabrication Detailer to create 2D drawings and 3D models from project concepts and specifications; collaborate with estimators, designers, customers, and internal teams to develop fabrication-ready designs; perform site verification of dimensions and installation conditions; interpret structural drawings and specs to develop accurate fabrication details; produce fabrication drawings, cut lists, and material details from SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other design files; perform material take-offs; prepare basic programs for burn/plasma table fabrication; detail parts and assemblies; maintain drawing files and project records; review parts for conformance; support continuous improvement and other duties. Requirements include experience with structural detailing and shop drawings, AutoCAD, 3D modeling (SDS2, SolidWorks), ability to read blueprints and technical documents, willingness to learn new software and fabrication processes, strong mathematical and spatial reasoning skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. An associate degree in drafting or related field is preferred or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with structural detailing, shop drawings, and fabricated steel components such as mezzanines, stairs, platforms, handrails, and support structures.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency with 3D modeling software; experience with SDS2, SolidWorks, or similar programs preferred.
- Associate degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
