Job Summary
Fabrication & Assembly Technician role operating CNC routers and press brakes to manufacture architectural metal panels. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC routers, loading sheet metal, monitoring programs, and ensuring quality output; bending and forming complex profiles from aluminum, ACM, and other architectural metals; reading shop drawings to produce flashing, trim, panels, and other parts; maintaining proper bend allowances, radii, and tolerances; performing routine maintenance on CNC and brake equipment; coordinating with the production team to meet deadlines and assisting with packaging finished products. Key skills include CNC operation and programming knowledge (G-code/CAM), sheet metal fabrication principles, accurate measurement with calipers and tapes, reading detailed drawings, and safety-conscious workmanship. A High School diploma or GED is required, with 3+ years of hands-on metal fabrication experience preferred; vocational/technical training is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC routers and/or press brakes in a metal fabrication or architectural panel shop
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles (bend allowances, tolerances)
- Experience with architectural metals (aluminum plate, ACM, zinc, stainless steel, galvanized steel)
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and construction documents
- Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code or CAM software)
- Proficient with measurement instruments and quality inspection techniques
- Forklift certification or experience is a plus
