Fabric Operative | RAF Lakenheath

Job Summary
Conduct planned preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on the physical fabric of RAF Lakenheath and surrounding areas, including commercial and domestic building repairs, door/window fixes, ceiling work, and plastering. Complete minor installation projects and reactive tasks in line with Service Level Agreements, ensuring all activities are recorded and documented via PDA. Collaborate within a 10-person on-site engineering team to interact with military personnel, managers, and supply chain partners while contributing to risk assessments and championing safe working practices. Perform work independently or as part of a collaborative unit, adhering to strict health and safety standards and method statements.
Required Qualifications
- full UK driving licence
- eligible to obtain SC-level Security Clearance
- hands-on experience in one or more trades such as plumbing, carpentry, decorating, plastering, or bricklaying
- reliable
- self-motivated
- confident in your ability to communicate effectively
- ability to work under minimal supervision
- strong focus on health and safety
- ability to contribute to risk assessments
- ability to follow method statements
- ability to champion safe working practices
Desired Qualifications
