Job Summary

Design Microsoft Fabric solutions by installing, configuring workspaces, and setting up OneLake, Lakehouses, and Warehouses to support scalable data ingestion and transformation. Develop robust data engineering patterns using Data Factory and Synapse capabilities while migrating legacy workloads from Azure Synapse or SQL Server. Build and maintain pipelines to ingest, transform, and publish data from structured and unstructured sources, optimizing queries and storage structures for performance and cost reduction. Configure security models, role-based access control, and governance alignment with Microsoft Purview to ensure secure-by-design configurations. Troubleshoot platform, pipeline, and connectivity issues, producing technical documentation and supporting testing, release management, and transition to live service. Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver modern data platforms and analytics services across public and private sector clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing, installing, configuring or supporting Microsoft Fabric solutions
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Science, Real-Time Intelligence and Power BI
  • Experience building data pipelines, data models, Lakehouse or Warehouse solutions using Microsoft data technologies
  • Good knowledge of Power BI, semantic modelling, DAX and reporting best practice
  • Understanding of data governance, security, access control, data quality and data lifecycle management
  • Ability to troubleshoot data platform, refresh, integration, performance and configuration issues
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams and producing clear technical documentation
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and able to work across multiple client environments and delivery priorities
  • Appropriate security clearance depending on client requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Data Lake Storage or Databricks
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent
  • Agile Practitioner, Scrum Master, PRINCE2, or equivalent delivery qualification
