Job Summary
Fab Operator – 1st Shift in Tipton, KS. Set up, tend, and operate fabricating machines (cutoff saws, shears, rollers, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, punch machines, laser cutting, CNC plasma, etc.) to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; set stops or guides; position work pieces; activate machines; observe for defects; measure dimensions with various devices; remove burrs and surface contaminants; perform minor machine maintenance; assist operators with setup and transport of finished pieces; monitor tasks and suggest quality improvements. Overtime on Fridays as required; 1st shift, Monday-Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Great Plains Manufacturing, now a Kubota company, emphasizes teamwork and growth. Required Qualifications
- One to three years’ experience as a fabrication operator or similar
- Basic understanding of computer functions and various software
- Must be able to read prints and understand all press brake operations
- Must have strong math skills, including proficiency with fractions and decimals
