FAA Repair & Assembly Technician

Job Summary
Assemble, disassemble, repair, and reassemble aerospace components, including temperature and pressure probes, in accordance with approved procedures, repair station manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications. Perform electrical assembly, basic circuit wiring, soldering, and troubleshooting activities while measuring loop resistance and insulation resistance using specialized test equipment. Conduct inspections, measurements, and functional testing to verify product conformity, performance, and airworthiness, maintaining accurate assembly, repair, inspection, testing, and certification records. Identify defects, discrepancies, and nonconforming conditions, support root cause investigations, and escalate complex concerns to Engineering or Quality. Ensure proper accountability and control of parts, materials, tools, and documentation while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics, and work instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements requiring fine motor skills.
- Ability to work with small precision components and perform detailed visual inspections.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Must pass a drug test after written acceptance of an offer of employment and before beginning work.
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in aerospace assembly, electronics, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an FAA Repair Station, aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, or component repair environment.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and aerospace quality requirements.
- Experience with aerospace electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical assemblies.
- FAA Repairman Certificate.
- IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
- Experience with soldering, welding, brazing, precision measurement tools, and testing equipment.
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing, repair, quality, and safety standards.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated production and repair environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
