Job Summary
Obtain video from news-related scenes and operate drones for aerial photography and video capture; transmit video from active scenes to affiliated television stations; conduct pre-flight planning and post-flight analysis; perform routine drone maintenance and troubleshoot issues; ensure FAA compliance and company policies; collaborate with team members to meet project goals; stay current on UAV technology; maintain flight logs and submit mission reports; drive the drone vehicle to scenes and work with producers and stations for the best possible footage.
Required Qualifications
- Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Proven experience flying drones in various conditions and environments
- Familiarity with drone software and navigation systems
- Strong understanding of airspace regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of the local coverage area geography and roadways, mass transit and traffic patterns
- Ability to take direction and execute on deadlines
- Valid/current State Driver’s License with clean 5-year DMV history and no at fault crashes or DUI’s
