Job Summary
Mechanic at Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center performing overhaul, repair, and assembly of turbine jet engines. Work in a hands-on, team-driven environment applying mechanical expertise to restore engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability. Follow published work instructions and approved technical data, utilize hand tools and a wide variety of tooling/fixtures to disassemble/assemble and test a jet engine, and ensure all phases meet required safety, quality, and delivery standards. Role involves performing self- and peer-inspection of critical processes and maintaining adherence to quality standards while supporting FAA-related safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in a mechanic role or appropriate technical training
- A&P License or Powerplant Certificate preferred
- Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP
