Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise all F&B personnel, kitchen, and back-of-house operations while maintaining profitable department performance and high service quality. Respond to guest complaints promptly, monitor industry trends, and ensure compliance with liquor laws, health regulations, and standard operating procedures. Prepare and submit required reports, manage inventory, and conduct department meetings. Interview candidates for F&B positions, oversee employee cafeteria operations, and ensure timely purchasing within budget. Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and implement solutions while maintaining regular attendance and adhering to hotel standards.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience
- 2-year college degree and 4 or more years of related experience
- Proficiency in Windows
- Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques
- Knowledge of health department rules and regulations
- Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Ability to comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
- Ability to approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Ability to maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Ability to wear nametags
- Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Ability to effectively lead and manage F&B personnel
- Ability to respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
- Ability to participate in F&B budget, forecasting and monitor department performance
- Ability to monitor industry trends and take appropriate action
- Ability to coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention
- Ability to prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner
- Ability to participate in department monthly/quarterly/annual inventories
- Ability to organize and conduct department meetings on a regular basis
- Ability to monitor quality of service and product
- Ability to ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation
- Ability to oversee operations of the employee cafeteria
- Ability to ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations
- Ability to ensure departmental compliance with SOP's
- Ability to ensure the training on SOP's, report preparation, technical job tasks
- Ability to attend and/or conduct departmental and hotel training
- Ability to interview candidates for front-of-house and back-of-the house F&B positions
- Ability to conduct and/or attend all required meetings, including pre-convention and post-convention meetings
- Ability to ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Ability to maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions

- Long hours sometimes required
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
