Job Summary
F-22 Mission Software Engineering Manager leads a software engineering team that develops flight software and infrastructure software (simulation and modeling) for the F-22 Raptor. Responsible for delivering program software products within cost and schedule, developing and executing project plans, implementing policies, and driving process improvements in Agile, DevSecOps, and design practices. Oversees technical product and process approvals, mentors engineers, leads development and delivery of operational flight program software in a SAP environment, and communicates with customers, partners, and program management. The role requires recruitment of engineering talent, risk mitigation, and issue resolution, with leadership responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (past 24 months considered active)
- At least 1 year of leadership experience (team leader, temp manager, large-scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience)
- Experience leading a software development team through the full software lifecycle
- Experience with Agile and/or SAFe Principles & Methodologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Mission systems or software experience on Boeing fighter platforms
- Experience working in a partnership relationship either internal or external to Boeing
- Experience with Mission Critical elements of military aircraft
- Experience with the life cycle of development and test of flight software products
- Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management) experience
- Travel willingness up to 10% of the time
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- SAFe/Agile methodologies
- DevSecOps practices
- Capability to lead cross-functional software teams
- Excellent communication with customers and program management
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Export control compliance awareness
- Safety-sensitive and security clearance requirements
- Ability to recruit qualified engineering talent
- Experience in managing budgets and schedules
- Knowledge of flight software life cycle
- Leadership assessment participation requirements
- Experience in SAP environments (special access program)
