Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts from prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists while operating auto-lensometers and manual lensometers. Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, and facial measurements, then accurately collect precise metrics including bridge, eye size, and pupillary distance. Educate clients on specific lenses, coatings, and frame options to meet their needs, ensuring all orders are dispensed in E360 and repairs are performed. Maintain frame standards through cleaning and inventory management while following all job aids, policies, and HIPAA protocols to protect patient information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time
