Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contact lenses by accurately collecting measurements, operating lensometers, and coordinating frames with optical prescriptions. Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and styles while determining needs to exceed expectations. Repair and adjust frames, dispense orders in E360, and maintain clean, organized frame inventory. Adhere to all job aids, policies, and HIPAA protocols. Perform general office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time

- Ability to drive
