Job Summary
Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing while verifying medical and vision insurances. Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers by answering inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests. Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT equipment following established scripting. Clean examination equipment including tonometer tips and perform general office duties as assigned. Maintain a positive work environment by interacting courteously with all employees and complying with company policies including HIPAA. Full-time availability required within Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-1pm hours, with flexibility for early or late shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excitement to learn and grow
- Favorable result on Background Check
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills
- Full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to climb
- Ability to drive
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
