Job Summary
Prepare patients for exams, take medical histories, and perform basic vision testing including dilation, refraction, and diagnostic tests like visual fields and OCT. Support doctors by verifying patient information, recording medical data in the EMR, measuring vital signs, and maintaining clean, stocked examination rooms. Travel to other offices in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Tampa as needed. No experience required; we will train you. Full-time role with benefits including medical, vision, dental, and 401k.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of related experience and/or training
- Ability to work weekends when applicable
- Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
- Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with all levels of employees
- Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow
- Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
