Job Summary
Eye Care Professional interacts with customers to uncover needs for lifestyle and recommends specialized products; assists with frame selection, takes measurements, fits and adjusts glasses, troubleshoots vision concerns, and teaches patients proper wear and care for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Responsibilities include obtaining prescriptions, gathering patient information, scheduling/confirming appointments, preparing orders to labs, using equipment (lensometer, auto refractor, pupilometer, calipers), managing frame and contact lens inventories, and performing administrative duties (filing, order follow-ups, answering phones, assisting the doctor with referrals). Travel between clinic locations may be required based on operational needs. Skills emphasized include customer service, problem solving, teaching patients, and computer proficiency to support patient care and office operations.
Required Qualifications
- Customer service experience preferred
- Optical experience not required but helpful
