Job Summary
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals to set up, load materials, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, clean, and complete preventive maintenance on assigned machines. Check machine output, identify issues, and adjust settings to complete tasks accurately according to specifications. Box tubes, fill out tags, and inspect gauges while communicating with team members to ensure continuous production with minimal waste. Maintain updated records on machine information, defective units, and final output. This non-supervisory role operates from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday in Delavan, Wisconsin, under the guidance of the Production Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 6 months of machine operating experience
- Experience preferably in extrusion
- Industrial setting experience
- Mechanical systems coursework
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel
- Basic knowledge of MS Word
- Basic knowledge of MS Outlook
- Solid knowledge of machining processes
- Understanding of safety requirements
- Understanding of OSHA requirements
- Ability to attain forklift licensure
- Ability to build positive team relationships
- Ability to achieve outcome-oriented objectives
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise)
