Job Summary
Extrusion Team Lead responsible for supervising a ~5-person extrusion production team, coordinating press schedules, die/alloy changes, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Lead with strong communication, coach and train operators, maintain production flow, monitor metrics (productivity, quality, scrap), prepare daily production reports, and support cross-training while enforcing safety policies and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Lead an extrusion press crew
- Set up and operate extrusion department equipment
- Understand and follow press practices and production procedures
- Use precision measuring tools accurately
- Identify defects and determine material disposition according to company and customer requirements
- Perform basic maintenance on department equipment
- Train and mentor employees effectively
