Job Summary
Tape extruded articles to reel spindles and start machines to wind material. Measure and cut extruded articles to specified lengths, then weigh rolls and record data on shipping tags. Saw scrap tubes and rods for the hammer mill, mix thermoplastic materials per formula, and set up extrusion machines by inputting information into computer consoles and adjusting roll gaps. Monitor machine alignment, troubleshoot working parts, install dies and extrusion heads, and regulate extrusion rates to prevent metal rupture. Perform daily housekeeping and record crew time and billet usage. Available 6:00pm-6:00am with a starting rate of $17.95 per hour plus shift differential. Requires high school diploma and 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in Extrusion
- Ability to accurately input all formulas and recipes into a computer console
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to other departments to meet production goals
